Klaus Nomi (born Klaus Sperber) has been an influence on the words of music, counter culture, queer history and fashion even decades after his passing in 1983. Known for his bizarre live performances, his operatic counter tenor vocal range and bold fashion, Nomi became well known in the NYC East Village art scene. Becoming contemporaries with the likes of Jean Michel Basquiat, Andy Warhol and David Bowie (who he provided background vocals for on a SNL performance of 1979).
I wanted to do my own spin on these and decided to do something cutesy with it and less of a direct reference portrait of him (which has been already done before). Laser cut and engraved from two tone specialty white and black material, these dangle earrings measure approximately 2" wide and 3.25" tall and hang off a .82" stud. Stainless steel posts and super grippy silicone earring backs.
