If you are unfamiliar with what foil prints are, please take a minute to read through so you understand the type of artwork you are purchasing.Ê

What is foil printing?Ê

Foil printing is a printmaking process that uses specialty toner reactive foils that are able to stick to areas where toner ink have been applied (that has either been applied by hand or by a printer). Foil prints can range from a simple one color foil design (such as you will typically find in handmade greeting cards and simple text based or line art foil prints) to more intricate pieces like the ones designed and made here.Ê

Similar to other printmaking processes like screenprinting or risograph printing, to achieve a multi layered and multicolored foil print, it must be done one layer at time, with the average print requiring 5-6 layers.Ê

From file set up to the finished print, foil printing is a very labor intensive process, each print needing to be done one at a time.

Like other printmaking processes, these prints are "perfectly imperfect"; the nature of the process will result in differences from one print to another. No print will ever be identical. There may be slight "perfect imperfections" such as minor registration differences and minor irregularities in the foiling.Ê

All prints sold as "A-grade" will have SOME of these types of things in the print; that is the nature of the print. The print you receive may have very minor differences from the one shown.Ê

Prints sold as B-grades are essentially misprints. They have more obvious printing/foiling issues to them but would still be good enough for someone to enjoy but not good enough to be considered a gallery quality print. Because these are more flawed, they are discounted accordingly. If you purchase a B-grade print, you will receive one AT RANDOM so please expect any number of flaws. You will never receive a completely unacceptable print.Ê

All sales are final on these prints. If you have any questions about them, please email and ask BEFORE purchasing so you know what you are buying!Ê
